The themes that emerged from this conversation about Scala’s approach to teaching included: physicality and the ways we use our body to create the colors, researching of sounds, how musical interpretation is a confluence of memories that act as a kind of DNA, the importance of freedom to play for different teachers, and the importance of taking a human approach to achieving equilibrium during our personal development.
